NIMROD BOOKER ALLEN

Allen was not only one of the founders of the Big Walnut Country Club, but an active and respected leader in many organizations in Columbus, Ohio, and was on the national stage.

Allen came to Columbus in 1915 to lead the Spring Street YMCA along with several other founders of the Big Walnut Country Club. In 1936, the Frontiers Club of Columbus was created under the visionary leadership of Allen. In 1917, Allen was a founder of the Columbus Urban League and served as the organization’s first executive director and executive secretary from 1921 – 1954, until he retired.

Dr. William ArthuR METHOD

 

Method was active during the formation and early years of the Spring Street YMCA.  He was also a member of the Columbus Urban League. 

Dr. R. MILTON TRIBBITT

 

Tribbitt was a dentist. He was active during the formation and early years of the Spring Street YMCA. He was also a member of the Columbus Urban League. â€‹

Dr. WILLIAM JEREMIAH WOODLIN1877-1932

 

Woodlin was active during the formation and early years of the Spring Street YMCA.  He was also a member of the Columbus Urban League and records show him serving as Vice President in 1929. 

Dr. ELIJAH ARTHUR CALLOWAY1888-1934

 

Calloway was active during the formation and early years of the Spring Street YMCA. He was also a member of the Columbus Urban League.
